For us, the choice to provide Sara kulturhus with the label "kranmärkt"* was obvious. By using tap water from the Skellefteå, rather than bottled water, we ensure that we are not adding to the unnecessary use of plastic. We also eliminate the need for bottled water to be transported to, and through, Skellefteå, which means lower emissions and less waste.
Tap water is much more energy-efficient than bottled water. Producing and delivering 1 litre of packaged water requires at least 300 times more energy than taking 1 litre of water from the tap.
Also, it’s more cost-effective to use locally produced freshwater directly from the tap rather than buying bottled water. Several hundred times cheaper. Therefore, opting for tap water is a smart choice both for the environment and your wallet.
