We love recycling

Why buy new products when we can reuse older items? Recycling is not necessarily cheaper, but it is far more environmentally friendly. Both manufacturing and recycling are energy-intensive, so we believe it's better to bring products back to life, so they can continue to be used for many years to come.

We aim to recycle as much as we possibly can. For example, we have made use of furniture that became available when Skellefteå municipality's departments relocated to activity-based premises. Sturdy and high-quality wooden furniture, the textiles on some of the chairs may have reached their prime, but we managed to fix that. Using recycled fabric, we've transformed furniture from the 1980s to the 2020s.

Our beautiful old pews from Mjövattnet's chapel just outside Burträsk provide another great example of reuse. These benches just need a little care and attention in terms of sanding and repainting, after which they will be ready to enjoy their honoured position in Sara Kulturhus.

We are also delighted that the chandeliers from Skellefteå's old city hotel will adorn Sara kulturhus, allowing all of us to enjoy them.
