The shadow over Tjärdalen goes Västerbotten's haunting – Short Story Competition
Skellefteå City Library is organizing a short story competition ahead of the horror convention Lidman/Lovecraft. This year, we are looking for short stories with free interpretations of the phenomenon of haunting. Feel free to spice up your text with elements typical of Västerbotten and let your creativity flow.
Participants have a chance to be published in a short story anthology that will be available at Skellefteå’s libraries in 2026. The first, second, and third place winners will also be presented on stage during the awards ceremony at the Lidman/Lovecraft horror convention, which will be held from November 29–30.
You can compete in one of two age categories: 13-17 years or 18+.

Format: Word
Please name your document with the title of your story, as well as the first and last name of the author.

Important: Indicate in the email whether you are competing in the adult or youth category.

The entries will be judged by an independent jury.
Winners will be announced during the Lidman/Lovecraft horror convention, organized by the City Library, on November 29–30.
