Accessibility Statement for Sara kulturhus app

Sara kulturhus is responsible for this digital app, and just like with the physical cultural center, our goal is to achieve a high level of accessibility so that as many people as possible can use the app.

This document outlines:

  • How Sara kulturhus complies with legal requirements regarding accessibility in digital services provided by public sector bodies

  • Known accessibility issues

  • How you, as a user, can report things that aren’t working

We also want to be transparent about the challenges of writing an accessibility statement, which we find problematic in several respects. In some cases, different accessibility issues can affect multiple groups simultaneously. Many individuals also exist between categories. In such cases, the same issue should be reported multiple times, which can make things difficult to track.

This also means that the app owner and the user must define use situations in the same way, placing high demands on the user's detailed knowledge of the field.

How accessible is the app?
We’ve had the opportunity to test the app’s accessibility with a number of individuals who have the following types of functional variation:

  • People with various degrees of visual impairment or blindness

  • People with different cognitive challenges

  • People with reduced fine motor skills

  • People with reduced strength and/or limited mobility

Through testing, participants identified areas where we know the app’s accessibility can be improved. These areas are described in detail under the section “Content that is not accessible” below.

What can you do if you can’t use parts of the app?
As a user, you are welcome to provide feedback on aspects you feel aren’t working—we gladly receive clear and constructive criticism to help us improve the app.

To help us, we need to know:

  • Where in the app you encountered the issue

  • Which part of the app is affected

  • What type of content fails to meet requirements

  • How you are affected by the issue

If you experience that content from Sara Kulturhus is not accessible to you, but the content is excluded from the law’s scope as described below, you are welcome to contact us by email: info@sarakulturhus.se

Help us improve
We are continuously working to make the Sara Kulturhus app more accessible. By increasing awareness of what works well and what doesn’t, we can collectively reach a higher level of accessibility. If you notice accessibility issues not described here, or feel we’re not meeting legal requirements, please contact us so we can address the issue.

Regulatory oversight
The Swedish Agency for Digital Government (DIGG) is responsible for overseeing compliance with the law on accessibility of digital public services. If you are dissatisfied with how Sara Kulturhus responds to your comments, you can file a complaint with DIGG.

This app is not fully compliant with the law on accessibility of digital public services, based on the current accessibility status described below under “Content that is not accessible.”

Content that is not accessible

For users with various degrees of visual impairment or blindness:

  • Not all non-text-based content can be accessed using screen readers, as descriptions are missing

  • It is not possible to enlarge all text

  • The app supports only portrait orientation

  • Development is ongoing regarding reliability and support for interpreting the app using visual aids. An update to this statement will be made once these issues are resolved and an improved version of the app is available

For users with cognitive challenges:

  • The automatic slideshow on the app’s homepage may pose difficulties for people with dyslexia or other cognitive challenges, due to limited time to absorb and interpret content
