Tomas Andersson Wij - Spring Tour 2024

At the end of summer, Tomas Andersson Wij entered the studio with some of the country's foremost jazz musicians. The first taste from that session was the song "Still Got the Blues from Sweden," currently playing frequently on the radio. On December 15, the next single will be released, the title track of the album, "Sorgsna sånger gör mig glad" (Sad Songs Make Me Happy), where Tomas describes the significance of music in his life and lists "sad songs" that make him happy. From Lina Sandell's "Blott en dag" to Allan Edwall's "Den lilla bäcken" and Laleh's "En stund på jorden."

The album "Sorgsna sånger gör mig glad" will be released on January 26, and in early March, Tomas Andersson Wij begins his spring tour, with one of the stops at Sara Kulturhus on May 2.

"I have come to realize that music is my religion. It is where I seek comfort, strength, and inspiration. The more contentious and politicized society becomes, the more concert halls appear as churches. A bright and unifying place. One of the few places in society where people still meet beyond opinions and positions," says Tomas Andersson Wij.

During his 25 years as an artist, Andersson Wijs' songs have filled many concert halls. Few Swedish artists have toured as much as he has. And in the spring, he embarks on a new journey, together with the pianist who has been by his side in recent years, Andreaz Hedén, and the acclaimed jazz musician Nils Berg on saxophone, clarinet, and flute. The trio did a couple of summer concerts together with such a good aftertaste that they have now booked a full tour. In spring 2024, they will come to Skellefteå and Sara Kulturhus. Don't miss it!
